Fry Street Townhomes | Chicago
This development is comprised of four attached townhouses. Three of the units are identical three-story townhouses with penthouses and decks on the upper level, providing spectacular views of the City. The fourth unit is a two-story residence/office with its own large penthouse and deck.
The small, triangular site for this project necessitated stepping the units back. This site feature was used in the massing of the project - the three townhouses step back upon themselves, buttressing into one other.
A deep overhang provides a dramatic shadow as well as some relief from the summer sun. Entrances to the individual units are denoted with projected block masses, which also function as small balconies above the entries.
