Green Bungalow  |  Evanston

This classic prairie bungalow was remodeled and expanded. The exterior needed a new stucco finish, while the front porch was completely rebuilt. Planters were integrated into the sidewalls of the front steps. The existing house had two bedrooms and one bath. This was transformed into a three bedroom, two bath space with a full master suite. Prairie details such as the wood trim and new energy efficient divided windows replaced painted trim and deteriorated windows.

Green design features were included throughout the entire interior renovations in order to contribute to a more sustainable finished product. Energy efficient solar tube daylighting floods the interior with natural light. The new kitchen has a very efficient layout, and includes a work area and a direct connection to the exterior deck and expansive yard.
