Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP2) | Evanston
The Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP2) in Evanston encompasses a number of strategies to upgrade foreclosed properties in defined census tracks. Kipnis Architecture + Planning is involved with renovating condominiums and designing new, single family, two flat and three flat buildings. The new buildings are designed to be affordable to build and maintain, and employ cost effective green strategies.
This building is composed of two townhomes with space efficient floor plans. These 1448 square foot homes are three bedrooms, 2 1/2 bath, and include a parking pa at the rear of the property.
Green features include cement fiberboard and high efficiency double glazed, low 'E' windows are used on the exterior. The insulation system has a rigid insulation board on the exterior over a 2x6 wall system filled with recycled cellulose insulation. CFL lights were used, along with a very high efficiency HVAC system.
The project was developed by Brinshore Development.
