Located in a renovated industrial building, Avli is a new Greek themed restaurant. Avli, which means ‘courtyard’ in Greek, features both a large indoor seating area and a great outdoor dining space. The goal of the renovation was to maximize the use of the existing features of the restaurant while transforming the space into a memorable destination. The existing brick walls were up-lit from the top of the banquet seats to wash the walls with light, which effectively hid both the actual color of the walls and any visible stain marks while turning the brick wall into a design highlight.
The courtyard was cleaned up and future colorful canvas awnings were designed. The existing bar space was brought up to date, and a small storeroom was turned into a private dining room. The kitchen required a complete overhaul to comply with code and to achieve the level of kitchen quality that the restaurant demanded.
